How does the 12-color printing differ from standard postcards?
Our 12-color technology uses a wider gamut of pigments than standard 4-color printing. This results in smoother gradients, more accurate color representation, and deeper shadows, ensuring the Cézanne reproduction looks like a true museum-quality print rather than a simple photocopy.
What is the physical feel and thickness of the postcards?
Each card is printed on 200 gsm (80 lb) paper with a thickness of 0.26 mm (10.3 mils). They feature a smooth matte finish that is soft to the touch and completely glare-free, providing a premium, archival feel for both writing and display.
Are these postcards environmentally friendly?
Yes. RedKalion is committed to sustainability. We use FSC-certified paper from responsibly managed forests, and each set is printed on demand to minimize waste and reduce our carbon footprint compared to mass-produced stationery.
When will my order ship and are there minimums?
We print each set on demand to ensure the highest quality control. There are no minimum order requirements. Most orders are processed and ready for dispatch within 2-4 business days, ensuring your museum-quality cards arrive promptly and securely.
Will the colors fade if I frame and display these cards?
These postcards are produced with archival-grade inks and high-quality matte paper designed for longevity. While any paper product should be kept out of direct, harsh sunlight, our 12-color printing is significantly more resistant to fading than standard inkjet prints.
What was the historical inspiration for Cézanne's 'Castle of Marines'?
Known as 'Le Château Noir,' this unfinished neo-Gothic estate near Aix-en-Provence fascinated Cézanne. He rented a room there to store his equipment, finding the structure's geometric shapes and its integration with the surrounding pine forests perfect for his structural explorations.
How does this piece demonstrate Cézanne’s 'constructive stroke'?
In 'Castle of Marines,' you can see Cézanne’s 'constructive stroke'—rhythmic, parallel brushwork that creates form and volume through color rather than outlines. This technique was revolutionary, directly influencing the development of Cubism by treating nature through the cylinder, sphere, and cone.
